Mission
Excellent Options (XO) is a 501(c)(3), Parent-led organization that ensures African American students in Loudoun County graduate from high school on-time, in excellence and with options.
Vision
Leverage strategic partnerships with parents, community sponsors, and the public-school system’s leadership to eliminate the academic achievement/opportunity gap. We work to equip students with the proficiency to successfully pursue any academic, professional, vocational or technological path that they desire.
Goals
- Ensure sustainable growth and maturation of the weekend academy program.
- Design and deploy technological platforms that will directly support partnership efforts with parents, community, and sponsors.
- Provide African American students with exposure to post-secondary options.
Programs
Weekend Academy
Focused on closing the academic achievement gap of African American students K-12. Increases students’ reading comprehension and math computation skills.
College Tours
We give young students the opportunity to see up close and personal an assortment of colleges through a deep dive into all aspects of student life of a University.
Homework Club
A parent administered program for middle school students sponsored by the Excellent Options organization in conjunction with LCPS partner schools.
NSBE Jr.
The goal of the XO NBSE Jr. chapter program is to stimulate the interest of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in XO students grades 6-12 and encourage them to pursue college degrees and careers (STEM) related fields
